Usability Testing & Evaluation (CPUX-UT)

In this advanced-level seminar, you will learn how to evaluate design solutions for interactive systems systematically and early on, in order to ensure good usability and a great user experience. For example, you will learn:

• how to plan, execute, and document professional usability tests in development projects, and how to communicate the results so that the findings are actually implemented,
• how to execute usability inspections independently and
• how to survey users professionally.

The seminar is based on the CPUX-UT curriculum of the International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB), which is recognized by 5 professional associations of usability professionals: German UPA, UX Switzerland, UXpro Austria, UXPA UK and UX Danmark.

Your Trainer

• 

  Guido Tesch studied computer science (specializing in AI and psychology) and has been working as a UX professional since 2000 with a focus on Context of Use Analysis, UX Architecture / Conception, UI Prototyping and Usability Testing. He is a trainer for “Usability and User Experience – Foundation Level (CPUX-F)” and Advanced Level “Designing Solutions (CPUX-DS)”. He is a member of the DIN committee for the development of the ISO 9241 series of standards and author of the textbook “Basiswissen Usability und User Experience”.

Certification Test (optional)

After the training there is the possibility to acquire the CPUX-UT certificate. This requires passing both a theoretical and a practical examination. The exam is conducted by the independent certification body iSQI (International Software Quality Institute).

The "CPUX-UT" certificate is awarded to all participants who pass both the theoretical exam and the practical exam and receive at least 70% of the achievable points in each exam. The prerequisite for participation is the successful completion of the Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience - Foundation Level (CPUX-F) exam.

The theoretical exam is designed as an online exam, which takes place some time after the seminar. The examination date can be arranged individually by the seminar participant with the certification body.

The practical exam also takes place some time after the seminar and is executed as a homework within 6 months. The practical exam consists of planning, executing and documenting three usability test sessions with real users. The workload for the practical exam is typically 10 to 30 hours.

The maximum number of participants for a seminar is 10.
